1. General Programme Information

The Faculty of Nursing maintains that high-quality nursing graduates must possess sound academic knowledge and professional competence. Graduates are expected to integrate the science and art of nursing, midwifery, and related disciplines in order to provide effective, holistic care in accordance with professional roles across diverse situations, while upholding moral principles, ethical conduct, and professional standards. The programme recognises the social, linguistic, religious, and cultural diversity of service users. In addition to academic and professional competence, the educational provision promotes students’ holistic development and prepares them to live constructively and adapt effectively within culturally diverse and changing societies. Graduates are expected to demonstrate intellectual, communication, and information-technology skills; leadership; intellectual curiosity; commitment to the profession; responsible citizenship; and accountability to themselves and society. The Faculty adopts Prince of Songkla University’s educational philosophy of Progressivism, which supports the comprehensive development of learners so that they can flourish in society and respond appropriately to changing circumstances. The programme promotes lifelong learning and applies an outcome-based education (OBE) approach, with learning experiences designed around diverse activities and practice-oriented active learning.

Programme Objectives

1. Demonstrate knowledge of nursing, midwifery, and related disciplines, and apply such knowledge appropriately in nursing practice.
2. Provide holistic nursing and midwifery care across cultural contexts to service users in all health conditions, during both routine circumstances and disasters, while ensuring safety and complying with applicable laws and professional ethics.
3. Communicate effectively in Thai and English.
4. Think systematically, creatively, and critically, and exercise sound judgement in decision-making and problem-solving.
5. Demonstrate the digital knowledge and competencies required for inquiry, professional practice, and communication.
6. Apply research and innovation-development processes to enhance the quality of nursing care.
7. Demonstrate leadership and management competence when collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
8. Act as responsible citizens who uphold moral and ethical principles, respect human dignity, demonstrate compassion, and accept responsibility to themselves and society.
9. Engage in self-directed learning and pursue continuous personal and professional development.
10. Conduct accurate quantitative analyses and apply statistics appropriately in professional practice.
